House of Screaming Death Press Coverage Roundup

So, what with finishing a month of filming with the amazing cast & crew, we’ve also had lots of local and worldwide press exposure, some of which I will post links to as they become public, while below is a collection of how the production has already been covered through various media. Enjoy!

Express & Star August 30th – featuring interviews with cast & crew about bringing gothic British horror to the Midands

Jason Forrest and The MilkBar Podcast/WCR.FM team came down to set on August 27th to interview various cast & crew (myself included, so apologies for the accent, I was on about 4 hours complete sleep at this point too!). A great insight to how the filmmaking process was going! Many thanks again to Jason! You can hear the complete show here.

Our friends over at Big Centre TV popped to the set during filming to record a whole show about the production, interviewing many cast & crew members. You can have a watch of that here which screened August 14th.

The Walsall Advertiser kindly ran an article on the film too on August 14th! Check it out below!

August 11th saw the Express & Star start their coverage on the film as it began it’s second week of production. More here!

While you can also read the original Indiegogo campaign article from June14th here!

Thank you to EVERYONE who supported us through the production process and beyond. Your kind support and encouragement is not only welcoming and greatly appreciated, but essential to local independent filmmaking! Another very special thank you also to Sophia French at Walsall Council for her amazing support as well as the fantastic staff and volunteers at The Manor House itself! We hope to do you all proud!

Brand New Screaming Death Poster released!

We promised, so here is a brand new poster for The House of Screaming Death, featuring Thomas Burlington (the fantastic Brett Dewsbury) and… well someone else behind him. Our Vampyre if you will (played by the amazing Matthew Kinson)! Check out those claws because he’s a sneaky one, and you won’t get a clear look at the fantastic design work of Steve Bosworth until well into 2016!

We’re keeping him very secret! So enjoy this look at him now, and ask yourself, why does Thomas look so concerned? I can’t wait for you all to see them both in action next year! The whole Vampyre segment was a dream come true for me to write, produce and direct!

Don’t forget, you can also check out the Vampyre prequel over on youtube to see what happened a year before this story takes place, showing your first look at our bloodthirsty fiend!

The House of Screaming Death Wraps Production Phase #1

I openly admit, I find it very difficult to finish on a film set when a project has been in your life for as long as you can remember at times, as well as saying goodbye to so many people who you have come to just get use to seeing happily every day.

And yeah, productions can have their moments. They can be incredibly stressful at times, all kinds of issues and problems jump up daily/hourly so you’re continually on alert (especially as a producer as well as a writer and director), no matter how much you’ve prepped and double prepped (and triple prepped!).

As well as this, and in this particular case there have been massive financial considerations to keep an eye on too from the crowdfunding that puts a whole new level of responsibility onto your shoulders, something that I’m so glad to have had the experience of dealing with now and learn how to deal with.

But my goodness, it has been fun! Friends of old and new have come onto this project through cast & crew, and we’ve pushed ourselves, spooked ourselves and laughed. My goodness we’ve laughed everyday! And I wouldn’t have changed it for a moment!

It has been a proper family unit on the set of House of Screaming Death and even now, just a few hours after wrapping phase #1, I am missing each and every bloody one of you! All for so many fun reasons and memories that I will carry with me forever!

And maybe me being a little sad about it is silly and some folks will frown on that or simply dismiss it, but naff to it, because it shows just how much of a profound impact you’ve all had on my life this past few weeks, and that is something I will treasure always and shout out happily about, as well as being grateful for.

I cannot wait to see how all this plays out, and February for phase #2 but THANK YOU to an amazing cast who have made our words come to life more than we could all have ever dreamed and to a crew who I would happily hastag with forever more! This summer has been one of the best of my life and that is because of each and every one of you, both in front of the camera and behind.

Here’s to whatever is next with you all!

Much love to #TeamScreamingDeath x

Best team EVER!

The House of Screaming Death Begins Production

The Time Is Upon Us!

Tomorrow we begin production, and the first story to be filmed will be The Witch In The Mirror. But before that, we, as a complete team, wanted to THANK each and every one of you who have supported us so far, either through donations, Indiegogo or even just by sharing content we have already released on here and through twitter.

Your support is overwhelming and keeps us going. We have been very busy the last few weeks preparing props, sets, locations, working with local communities and councils and a wonderful cast/crew and all this has been possible through you and your continued encouragement.

You are also supporting independent artists, both in front of the camera and behind it, and in this climate, where the arts is continually being slashed, it is something that is very important to highlight. We haven’t got a major studio behind us, we are all working on this for free, but that drives us even more, and allows us to be even more creative in the process!

The House of Screaming Death is bringing a host of amazing communities together, to show that the Arts is thriving in the Midlands and that there is some amazing talent here that needs to be seen. We are making the best film we can, and your continued encouragement and feedback is overwhelming and so very welcome!

Also, while we are filming, we won’t be quiet, they’ll be loads of pictures, videos and all kinds of exciting stuff still to come, so please keep liking, tweeting, sharing and enjoying.

We look forward to seeing you on this amazing (and completely frightening!!!), journey with us to meet The Architect at Bray Manor.
